Upper hook punch from Malaysia Today landed on the chin: More allegations against IGP
A statutory declaration by a purported aide de camp of Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan has alleged that his former boss had triads links.
The document was posted on the Malaysia Today blog, but vital information such as the ADC’s name, current occupation and name of commissioner of oath, have been blacked out.
The author of the document alleged that Musa had allowed a triad figure to manipulate promotions, rank and posting of police officers.
“I have personal knowledge and involvement in that I was asked, as ADC, to compile and co-ordinate such posting orders based on the drafts and proposals made by BK Tan,” wrote the author, who attached copies of the alleged drafts.
The author claimed that the transfers were made, in some cases, as entrapment. In others, it was made to look as though Musa initiated transfers to eradicate corruption.
Musa was also alleged to have ordered a blog to be set up to implicate then internal security deputy minister Johari Baharom, according to the statutory declaration.
In 2007, an anonymous blog accused Johari of accepting RM5.5 million in bribes to free three underworld figures. He was later cleared of the allegations.
The statutory declaration also repeated claims that Musa had a hand in a conspiracy against former federal Commercial Crimes Investigation Department head Ramli Yusuff and other officers probing certain underworld figures.
Musa’s contract to expire soon
The author said he had informed many powerful figures of his allegations including many top police officers at the time and then notable politicians including Johari and then Barisan Nasional secretary-general Radzi Sheikh Ahmad.
“However, nothing much could be done when Musa was given an extension of service of two years in July 2007, but the previous prime minister (Abdullah Ahmad Badawi) who was also the internal security minister. This served as a powerful endorsement that the government is fully behind Musa,” read the document.
Previously, Malaysia Today has published alleged statutory declarations from several police officers implicating Musa of having underworld links.
The ADC’s statutory declaration was published in an article allegedly penned by Raja Petra Kamaruddin, who jumped court bail in his sedition trial and his whereabouts are unknowned.
According to Raja Petra, there are signs that the government wants to extend Musa’s contract for a third time when the present contract expires on Sept 14.
“This means the Chinese underworld will continue to run the police force and decide on who gets transferred, promoted, demoted, and thrown into jail.
“Yes, they even throw police officers that do not ‘cooperate’ into jail. And, today, we offer the evidence of that,” wrote Raja Petra, adding that the ‘censored’ information on the latest statutory declaration would be revealed if Musa’s contract is extended.
Despite numerous attempts, Musa could not be reached for comment; when contacted, refused to comment. Mkini
